The Lees reach #25 for biggest track of 2010…

Hello everyone,

It has been quite a while since we last posted an update and so I thought that this exciting announcement was as good a reason as any to give you all an update.

As I said above, our track “It Ain’t Me Babe” has been announced as the 25th biggest song on country music radio during 2010 – quite an achievement and we are very proud! You can see the link here: CMR Top 50 of 2010

The Lees will be taking some time off to work on a whole bunch of different things this year.

As you may know, Steve has released an album titled “I Like Guns” and it has been recieving worldwide sucess especially in the USA. You can follow his travels on his facebook or at www.ilikeguns.com.au. Of course the rest of us Lees make regular appearances on his album and in his filmclips so make sure you check that out.

Mum, or Tray as we like to call her will finally get her life back as there is only Savannah left at home now, and she told me the other day that she’s been looking after children since she was 18 years old! So she is going to re-live her childhood and go out drinking every night. Thats a lie, there will be no drinking, but there will be a whole lot of new projects she is taking on including working with the youth in our town with www.unseenyouthministries.com.au and also beginning her new career.

As you all should know, I am married now (to a really good guy who is way too nice for me) and we are both relocating to Sydney in early February. This is the first time that I’ll be living in a different town from my parents and so I am a little sad but know that I can’t just hang out with Tray drinking coffee for the rest of my life. I will be working with a prestigious country music booking agency and I am really excited about this opportunity. I also be continuing my university studies and doing that wife thang.

Jarod and Faith have both been living and working in Penrith for the past year in youth refuges and they are both incredibly esteemed in their jobs. I don’t know how they work in such a highly demanding role but they both do it with ease. Jarod is continuing his role in this industry while Faith is just about to start a fashion design degree which I think she will be amazing in, as she is much more stylish than me.

And that leaves Savannah. Savannah is a bit of a wild card. She just turned 17 and up until about 6 months ago she was destined to be an actor and was determined to go to acting school. But about 6 months ago she made Jarod drive her to a bible college open house in Sydney and then decided that she wanted to do bible college instead of being a famous actress. So this year, she will be beginning an internship with a local church and studying by distance.

And that is everyone. Oh except for our cute new baby staffi dog named Frankie. She’s just planning on ripping up everything in the house until dad kicks her out forever. But until then, nothing is safe!

Well thats it for now. I will keep updating from time to time and all of our merch and CD’s will still be for sale and we will also do the odd show every now and then.

Hope you are all well!

All our love,

Raechel & The other lees’es

Single #2 & the radio tour..

Flying home from the US on my last trip there

Friends & followers;

So i am sitting in my loungeroom (which doesn’t have a TV but does have a woodfire) trying to juggle all of my different roles today. You see, today is the day that i am a housewife, a manager, a publicist, a chef, a bible-study co-ordinator, a writer, and just me, Raechel.

I  don’t know about you, but life is never simple when you have multiple roles to play.. nor does it help that my mobile phone goes in and out of service when it feels like it, my internet connection does the same, i seem to be burning the very last bit of wood in the whole yard, my uni work is looking at me in a teasing way, my graphic designer won’t call me back & my mum is out of town so i can’t ring her for moral support!

It’s a hard life.

On the upside, we have a NEW SINGLE out called “REMEMBER TO BREATHE” & that is exactly what i am trying to do. Not only is it out on radio, but people actually LIKE IT and have been PLAYING IT! Wow, life doesn’t get much better! Radio Show Hosts – you are too good to me. But don’t stop!

So to say a big thank you to all of the radio DJ’s who have supported our band over the years, we are going out on a radio tour. We are also doing a few house shows so look at the list below and if you think you can help out in any away, whether it be housing us for a night, feeding us, talking to us, holding an acoustic show at your house or just coming out and buying our record, then please get in touch with me,  i would love to hear from you!

Forbes, Parkes, Orange, Dubbo, Gilgandra, Coonamble, Coonabarabran, Narrabri, Moree, Gunnedah, Tamworth.

This is just the first of a few radio tours to come so if your town isn’t there don’t feel bad, we’ll be getting there hopefully very soon!

We also have a few shows coming up, check out our gig guide and see if you will be around..

Finally if you don’t have the record, it is available right here for $25 and we would love it if you would buy 50 of them, straight off the bat.. but if you get just 1 i’ll still be fairly happy…

Talk with you all soon, and remember to breathe!

“It Ain’t Me Babe” reaches #4…

Ben & Raechel's Wedding Party

Hey Lee friends,

Well it has been a few months since i got married and so i thought i would share a picture from the wedding with you all. This was taken just after the wedding at a property of some friends of ours; Roger & Kerriean.

As i mentioned in my other post, we are in the USA at the moment; in Nashville actually! Everyone has gone out shopping but i am spending the day in the hotel working which isn’t fun, but is necessary..

Another great thing that happened just a few days ago is that our single has gone up another place to #4! It is also #4 on Mildura Hot FM Top 50 chart! Life just keeps getting better!

Thanks so much to everyone for all their support! And don’t forget that the album is for sale in our online store or you can download it on iTunes also.

Talk soon,

Raech xx

First single from The Lees new album is #5 on the Charts!

Hey everybody,

Wow, what a big couple of days! So me, Mum, Dad and Sav are in North Carolina doing some promotion for Dad’s solo album & then heading to Nashville for a few meetings, but i am still suffering from jetlag! Isn’t it funny that we say “suffering”? I mean, i’m not really suffering, i’m just really tired at all the wrong hours!

We’ve been here in NC for 2 days and i get a message from our producers lovely wife, Amanda O’Bryan, to tell me that our single, “It Ain’t Me Babe” has reached #5 on the Country Music Charts! Here’s proof: Top 30 Charts!

Thank you everybody who has helped in making this happen!

Well i have to be off, it’s time (in Australia) to sleep so i have to go get some coffee so that i can stay awake until my bedtime, which embarrasingly, is 8:30pm. Oh my.

Hey friends,

Can you believe it? Our new single has entered the Top 10 on the Australian Country Music Singles Chart! We are currently sitting at #9 www.countrymusicradio.com.au/index.cfm?page_id=1011 and we are incredibly happy!

A big thank you to all of the radio presenters across Australia who are playing our single because quite frankly, we couldn’t have done it without you! Also a big thank you to all of the people who buy our records and request our music – what an amazing life we have thanks to you!

So mum and dad are currently in the US and they get home a bit later on in the month. We’re trying to put together a tour of the US later on this year or early 2011, i’ll keep you updated.

Also for anyone who doesn’t know, i got married just one month ago! It was a beautiful day and Jarod was a groomsmen and Faith & Sav were bridesmaids. I’ll put a picture up soon!

Hope everyone is doing well, i know that this #9 thing has made my week!!
